Leadership
At RABOT, co-developed product strategy with the CPO using Roger Martin's Playing to Win framework, working through where to play and how to win before committing to a roadmap. Design as a strategic input, not a downstream service.
Defined and rolled out a unified product creation process across multiple teams, establishing shared language between design, product, and engineering and reducing friction between discovery and delivery.
Regular 1:1s, co-created career paths, annual salary reviews, and development budget allocation. Recruiting, onboarding, and managing departures with care. A bias toward unblocking rather than directing.
Championing design's strategic value within the org, building trust with PMs, engineers, and leadership so that discovery isn't treated as optional overhead. Prevented knowledge silos; fostered cross-team alignment.

About
I built things before I built software. Trained carpenter. Business graduate. Industrial designer. I came to product design through making physical things — furniture, spaces, objects — which gave me a different kind of pattern recognition than the standard design school path.
It means I think in systems, tolerate ambiguity well, and care more about how things actually work than how they're supposed to look. It also means I've never confused craft with output.
That cross-disciplinary background isn't a liability in a homogeneous industry. It's leverage. I bring perspectives to problem-solving that designers who only know screens often don't.
What people say
"I worked with Peter as an IC before promoting him to Design Lead for our Product Designers — a decision that proved itself quickly. What sets Peter apart isn't just his design craft, but his ability to cut through complexity and stay laser-focused on the actual customer problem. He doesn't get distracted by what's technically interesting or visually appealing if it doesn't serve the outcome. As a leader, he strikes a rare balance: empathetic enough to build real trust with his team, assertive enough to make the hard calls.
He made our product and our team measurably better. I'm convinced any product design team would be stronger with Peter in it."
"From day one, Peter brought a systems-thinking approach and a strong sense of design that pushed our projects forward. He did an incredible job leading key initiatives like the nutrient goal cards and dashboard edit mode, skillfully managing trade-offs to deliver a seamless user experience while ensuring we met our deadlines. [...] He was instrumental in our design system work and took the lead on creating reusable components that will have a long-lasting impact on the scalability of our product. [...] Any team would be lucky to have him."
Full recommendation on LinkedIn →"I had the chance to work directly with Peter both as a design peer as well as my team lead at both SHARE NOW and RABOT Energy. [...] His approach to design critique stood out to me: he consistently pushed me to go a level deeper than my status quo and to understand the problem more thoroughly before reaching for solutions. And crucially, he never lost sight of pragmatism. He has a good sense of when more research serves the outcome and when it's time to ship. That judgment and balance is rare, but vital to building a product. [...] I'd recommend Peter to any design team, both as an individual contributor or as a team lead, and work with him again without hesitation."
