Leadership

Product Strategy

At RABOT, co-developed product strategy with the CPO using Roger Martin's Playing to Win framework, working through where to play and how to win before committing to a roadmap. Design as a strategic input, not a downstream service.

Process Architecture

Defined and rolled out a unified product creation process across multiple teams, establishing shared language between design, product, and engineering and reducing friction between discovery and delivery.

Team Development

Regular 1:1s, co-created career paths, annual salary reviews, and development budget allocation. Recruiting, onboarding, and managing departures with care. A bias toward unblocking rather than directing.

Design Advocacy

Championing design's strategic value within the org, building trust with PMs, engineers, and leadership so that discovery isn't treated as optional overhead. Prevented knowledge silos; fostered cross-team alignment.

About

I built things before I built software. Trained carpenter. Business graduate. Industrial designer. I came to product design through making physical things — furniture, spaces, objects — which gave me a different kind of pattern recognition than the standard design school path.

It means I think in systems, tolerate ambiguity well, and care more about how things actually work than how they're supposed to look. It also means I've never confused craft with output.

That cross-disciplinary background isn't a liability in a homogeneous industry. It's leverage. I bring perspectives to problem-solving that designers who only know screens often don't.
